Ingredients
- 1 x Pkg of Hayter’s Farm turkey scaloppine
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 2 x Large onions, sliced very thinly
- 1 x Cup of broth of choice
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Cup of cheese (we used Gruyere)
- Dried Thyme
- Salt and Pepper
Method of Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tbsp of butter on medium heat. Once hot, add in the onions and a 1/4 cup of broth. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until browned and softened. Stirring often.
- While the onions are cooking, you can season your turkey with salt, pepper and thyme – measure with your heart! We like to cut the slices of scaloppine in half for more manageable sizes.
- Once onions are done, set them aside and turn the heat up to medium-high and add the remaining tbsp of butter into your pan.
- Sear the turkey for a couple minutes on each side – they don’t need to be fully cooked in this part of the process! Once complete, set aside. Turn the burner to medium-low now.
- Add the cornstarch to the remaining broth and stir well. Add the onions back into the skillet and then pour the broth overtop. Stir until thickened – you should be able to run your spoon through and leave a clear path. Once done, turn off the burner.
- Add the turkey on top of the onions and scoop some onion on to each piece.
- Add the shredded cheese on top, then, transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the internal temp of the turkey is 165F.
